Every day, Kateryna walks to the meal center, praying for the people who help keep her and her son fed. “I never thought a bowl of soup could feel like such a blessing,” she says. “Every meal reminds me of the compassion of those who care for us.”
Every morning, Mykola makes the long trip to the meal center in his wheelchair. He lost mobility years ago and lives alone, but never misses a day. “This bag of food keeps me going,” he says with a smile. “It’s not just a meal — it’s a reminder that I’m not forgotten.”
Tatyana has cared for her disabled son alone since her husband left. When a shell hit their apartment in 2022, they lost their home and now rely on friends for shelter. “God and the people who help us have kept us from starving,” she says of the daily meals they receive.
